GAA ALL-IRELAND MINOR CHAMPIONSHIP
BRIEF: To build a sense of occasion and engagement with the GAA Minor Championship and fans from the counties involved in the latter stages of the tournament.
Previously, GAA Minor Championship contests came just before Senior matches, meaning selling tickets and getting bums on seats was easy as the same ticket was good for both games.
But now, with Minor Championship matches taking place as standalone events, we needed to find a way to change perceptions and convince people the Minor Championship is worthy of their time, their support and also their money for a match-ticket.
At the end of every season, win or lose, a senior team can dust themselves off and go again next year as a group. That isn’t true for Minor set-ups as more than half the squad graduate and are spread out around other teams. They only get one shot of a group. This means that, more than any other contest in the GAA, there really isn’t a “next year” for the players, this is their one shot.
That’s one hell of a reason to go out and support them.
